Blend:
76% Merlot, 24% Cabernet Franc
Tasting Notes:
Intense fruit-forward nose. Blackberries and dried cherries. A slight herbal characteristic; oregano and thyme. On the mouth, the fruit is again in the forefront. Fruits are concurrent with the nose. Blackberries and dried cherries. Some strawberry as well. Solid acids and tannins create a very balanced Merlot.
Food Pairings
Prime rib and lamb chops

- Connoisseur’s Guide to CA Wine: Drawn along slightly lighter lines and very much leaning to Merlot’s distinctly herbal side, this supple, mid-sized working smacks of pert, raspberry-like fruit with a trim of mildly caramelly oak sweetening its way. Its modest tannins will allow early drinking, but it is just firm enough to suggest that a bit of age will help.
- Sunset International Wine Competition: Bronze
